Our followers may have noticed that some of our 'sold' work is shown on our web site. This is to showcase more of the designs we have created in recent years, and demonstrate what we can produce with our hand-stitched textile pictures. It's fun for us to look back too, and see which pictures really 'spoke' to our customers.
One of the images above (top left) has made its way to a beautiful young girl's nursery. The others took many weeks to finish, and were designed 'in the round' to be printed onto 10" ceramic art plates. They are now in our shop as inexpensive prints.
The picture below hangs in a family home, and features a hand-dyed strand of twisted wool between the mountains and the lake. This peaceful colour scheme was much admired, and is a theme we will return to.

Each picture takes painstaking hours of design, preparation and stitching work. When it's completed we spray all printed elements with UV spray so that they look beautiful for as long as possible. We purchase simple shadow box frames frames to keep our price as reasonable as possible, and dismantle them to insert an essential air gap between the glass and the textile surface. Then we re-assemble once more. The backs of the pictures are properly sealed against dust and humidity, and a complementary quote is added to the reverse. Then we either wrap in black tissue paper for journals, or heavy kraft paper for our
heavier pictures, and pad out with recycled bubble wrap and cardboard for shipping.
